Pastor

Joseph Intagliata

Pastor Intagliata was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio to parents that claimed to be professed atheists. Despite having no church background, after learning a number of Christian hymns in grade school and at a summer camp he believed that there was a God. He graduated high school in a college-prep curriculum.

He married his high school sweetheart, Judy Lang in 1962 in a Roman Catholic church. He entered the tool and die trades in 1965 serving three apprenticeships simultaneously over five years and six months earning Journeyman’s Cards in Tool and Die, Die Cast Dies, and Plastic Molds. He attended Mechanical Engineering at the University of Toledo in 1969, and was inducted into The National Tool and Die Association in 1970.

After spending close to eleven years in the Roman Catholic church he became disillusioned with the church and began seeking God. In 1973 a friend began to witness the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ to him, which inspired him to begin reading the Bible to find the truth. After seven months of study he saw himself as a sinner deserving of hell, and was born again in Christ through repentance and faith on February 13, 1974 and immediately began attending a gospel preaching church with his wife and four children. His wife, Judy, was saved and born again on September 23, 1975, with his children also being saved during the interim and following months.

In early 1976 he began to feel the calling of God to become a preacher of the Gospel. He surrendered to the calling of God and attended St. Paul Bible College in Minnesota, and after becoming an independent Baptist in 1979, he attended Hyles Anderson College in Indiana, and graduated with a degree in Pastoral Theology from Fairhaven Baptist College in 1984.

Pastor Intagliata has founded two churches and schools and has pastored other churches in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Missouri, and Texas. He has also interim pastored churches in Indiana and West Virginia. During the years between 1995 and 1999 he preached many meetings in the Midwest and South. He has now been the pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Richland, Washington for over fourteen years.

Pastor Intagliata and his wife Judy, have been married for sixty-two years and have four children, twenty-three grandchildren, and twenty greatgrandchildren. One of their grandsons pastors a church in the Richmond, Virginia area.

History of Lighthouse Baptist Church

Lighthouse Baptist Church was founded in 1972 as Richland Missionary Baptist Church. It remained as such until 2006. At which time it was reestablished as Lighthouse Baptist Church, Richland, WA. Over the 38 years between 1972 and 2006, there were eight pastors, averaging a stay of four years, seven months each. The last pastor was Steve Ragland, who had to resign in August of 2009 for health reasons. Upon his recommendation, Pastor Joseph Intagliata was unanimously called to be the ninth pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church. The pastor and his wife, Judy, arrived at Lighthouse Baptist Church on December 29, 2009. He has been the pastor until the present. Lighthouse Baptist Church is an independent, fundamental, soul-winning, missionary-minded, King James-only, old-fashioned. Christ-honoring Baptist Church.

Personal Doctrinal Statement

• Independent, separated, and fundamental Baptist by Conviction.

• I believe the 1611 King James Bible to be the inerrant, inspired Word of God for English speaking people. It is the only Bible for my wife and me.

• God exists eternally in the Holy Trinity. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit

• All mankind is born into sin and therefore cannot meet God as such.

• Jesus Christ was God in the flesh, born of a virgin, lived a holy, sinless life, was impeccable, and willingly laid down His life, shedding His innocent blood for the sin of all mankind. He arose from the grave after three days and ascended into heaven forty days later that the Scriptures would be fulfilled in Him and that all men who believe and are born again may have eternal life through Him.

• God’s salvation is free to all who come to repentance and faith in the finished work of Christ on the Cross. Salvation is eternal and can never be lost.

• There is a literal burning Hell reserved for the devil, his angels, and all who reject Jesus Christ as His way of salvation.

• I reject the teachings of John Calvin as false.

• God expects believers to obey Him in baptism, church membership, and in surrender to His perfect will. Thus rejecting all worldliness and ungodliness.

• I reject ecumenical, charismatic, Pentecostal, and all forms of contemporary teachings, practices, and beliefs.

• I reject the beliefs of “Baptist Briders”.

• I reject contemporary music and worship.

• I embrace the Old Book, the old paths, the old music, the old preaching, and the old godly standards of living.

• God’s way is always right, sin is always wrong, and all men will give an account to God for how they live, whether saved or lost.

• Marriage is between one man and one woman for life.

• The man is to be the head of the home, love his wife as himself, and bring up his children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. His wife is to reverence her husband and obey him in all things in the Lord.

• Men are to conduct themselves as godly men, dressing and acting as such. Women are to conduct themselves as godly ladies, dressing and acting as such. Children are to be obedient and godly in honoring their parents.

• Women are not to be preachers, nor usurp authority over men.

• Sodomy and all forms of homosexuality are chosen sin.

• Pastors are to be the husband of one wife. I reject preachers who are divorced, who marry divorced women, or who are registered sex offenders.

• I believe the qualifications for a pastor to be as set forth in I Timothy 3 and Titus 1, nothing to be added or detracted.

• The visible, local church was founded by Jesus Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, and is the pillar and ground of truth.

• I believe the local church is to be led by one pastor, not a board of deacons. The church is to submit to the pastor’s leadership and example as he submits to the leadership of God.

• Each believer is to be actively involved in spreading the Gospel of Christ in personal soul-winning at home, in their travels and in the world by supporting missionaries of like precious faith financially and in prayer.

• I believe each believer is commanded, by Scriptural principle, to give their offerings to and through their local church in accordance to the grace of God; the tithe being the minimum.

• God only is the One who can make each believer fruitful in his personal life. It is God who works through him as he surrenders his heart to the Lord through faith in the Finished Work of Christ. The Holy Spirit is then free to use the believer and the things accomplished in his life to bring all glory and honor to God.

• God will call His churches out of this world before the time of the Tribulation at a time that only He knows.

• Christ’s return to earth will be the beginning of His thousand year reign on the earth and then He will cast those not saved into eternal damnation, and will then bring down the New Jerusalem from Heaven, where we will abide with Him for eternity.
